Ben Fellows is an award winning film director who is planning to circumnavigate the globe in a paramotor and make a documentary about the journey. And it’s all to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund and our friends at Leonard Cheshire Disability. Ben tells us more in this post.

Ben FellowsMy name is Ben Fellows and I'm a filmmaker recently diagnosed with the heart condition, pericarditis, and fibromyalgia which is a chronic pain condition.

On hearing the news from my doctors that I was seriously ill and am now disabled, I've decided to prove everyone wrong.  My counsellor's advised me to set a goal for my life. Okay, so he thought I'd set a goal like go for a walk every day.

Forget that!

I'm attempting to set a world record by circumnavigating the globe in a powered paraglider, or paramotor. I also plan to film a documentary along the way, telling the story of the journey.

Oh, and I plan to raise over a million pounds for Leonard Cheshire Disability and the RAF Benevolent Fund.

The only problem is I've never flown a paramotor before. But really, how hard can it be?

The film will follow my expedition - from putting together my ground crew, finding sponsorship to do the expedition, building a custom paramotor and learning to fly it in just ten days!

And we need your help. We are looking for four drivers, who are also mechanics and capable people who are interested in joining an amazing once in a life time expedition. We are also looking for a doctor or medic to join the support team with all relevant qualifications and an appetite for adventure.
