Welfare breaks

Getting away from the stress and strain of daily life can make a difference in anyone’s life.  But during those times when you are experiencing unusually difficult challenges, a break can make all the difference in being able to carry on and cope.

For example, you or your partner may be spending long periods of time deployed abroad.  A welfare break gives your family, or just the two of you, time away together.

The Whitemans

The WhitemansWhen Sacha Whiteman was diagnosed with cancer, we provided a welcome break from chemotherapy at Seacot House.

Or perhaps you are caring for a family member at home, which can be demanding and put pressure on your relationship.  Taking a welfare break can give you some time for rest and recuperation.

There are a number of ways we may be able to help you get the break you need.

Sea cottages

There are two sea cottages, Seacot House and Shencot House, on the south coast that are available for RAF couples and families. They are perfect for a short break or family holiday.

Princess Marina House

Princess Marina House is our care and respite home for ex-RAF personnel in Rustington.  You can take a relaxing break there with the security of knowing that the highly skilled staff will be able to provide whatever level of care you or your partner may need.

Joint homes

The three homes we own jointly with RAFA offer a number of secluded apartments for serving RAF and for older people or people with a disability seeking short-term care. The three homes are:

RAF and Dependents Disabled Holidays Trust

The RAF and Dependents Disabled Holidays Trust can help pay for your holiday in the UK or abroad if you have a severe disability.

Douneside House

Douneside House in Aberdeenshire offers discounted breaks for Service personnel. The house is set in magnificent countryside and has a gym, swimming pool, spa and sauna. Douneside House is owned by the MacRobert Trust.

And if none of the above options fit your needs, please contact us - we may be able to help in other ways.
