Ex-RAF applications
If you were in the RAF or WRAF (including National Service), or are the partner, widow, widower or dependant of someone who was, you can call our support line, apply online or write to us:

Calls to the support line are answered by trained staff. Our staff have an overview of our welfare work and policies. You'll find them sensitive and compassionate first points of contact.
If possible, when you phone, please collect together as many of the personal details about the person who was in the RAF as possible.
Alternatively, applications can be submitted through organisations such as
- RAFA
- SSAFA
- War Pensions Welfare Service
- Department of Work and Pensions
- Citizens Advice
In almost every case a representative of the RAF Benevolent Fund will be asked to visit the applicant to obtain first-hand information.
Serving RAF applications
If you are currently serving you should speak to your Flight Commander or Chief Clerk who will arrange for an application for assistance to be forwarded to us with the Station Commander's recommendations.
