You Stupid Boy Poster

In September 2005 Kent Brewery Shepherd Neame brought out a book 'THE BOTTLE OF BRITAIN CAMPAIGN 1997-2005' to celebrate the tongue-in-cheek humour of the successful Spitfire advertising campaign. It was published to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Fifty of the campaign advertisements - including some previously unpublished - appear in the book along with storyboards of TV commercials, and an interview with the creative team behind them. There's also an opportunity to learn some authentic RAF banter and discover more about the Battle of Britain and R.J. Mitchell, the inventor of the Spitfire.

The book has a cover price of £5 and profits will go to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. Copies can be purchased at selected outlets or ordered on www.shepherdneame.co.uk. To date the book has raised over £5,000 for the Fund.

Spitfire Ale was originally conceived in 1990 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund's Reach for the Sky Appeal. Since then, the Kent brewer has raised around £100,000 for military charities and RAF Memorials.
