Organise a Fundraising Event

Over the years, the Fund has depended heavily on the generous support of individual donors as well as income from legacies, investments, concerts and airshows. However, there are also a significant number of individual fundraisers who have made a huge contribution.

These innovative people are committed to helping the Fund by raising money in a variety of different ways. Such diverse events and activities, whether one-off or ongoing, have ranged from shaking a tin at the local supermarket, running marathons, cycling to Europe, climbing mountains and staging recitals.

Fundraisers are from many different origins and their ages have ranged from 9 to 99 years old! The majority are motivated by their own or their family’s RAF service backgrounds, although there are many who recognise the importance of the charity’s work and simply want to help. Some of the most moving cases have involved individuals who have been beneficiaries of the Fund in the past and find themselves in a position to be able to give something back.

Charity Begins at Home

Perhaps not surprisingly, some of the Fund's staunchest support comes from the men and women of today's RAF.

Many Units and individuals go to great lengths to raise money for the RAFBF's important welfare work. Station 'At Home' Days lead the way in boosting the Fund's income.
