The RAF Benevolent Fund can provide financial support to serving members of the RAF in a variety of cases, from paying for unexpected expenses to help with essential living costs.
To apply for help, we ask that you speak to your Chief Clerk or PMS staff who can make an application to us on your behalf. We work closely with RAF stations to ensure that support reaches those who need it, when they need it.
Additionally, the RAF Benevolent Fund administers the RAF Dependants Fund which provides financial support to nominated beneficiaries in the event of death in service.
Currently there is a subscription of 50p per month, and in the event of death whilst serving in the Royal Air Force an immediate grant of up to £15,000 is paid to the nominated beneficiary within 48 hours of the RAF Dependants Fund being notified by the Casualty Cell at Innsworth.
The rules are laid down in AP 3392 Vol 2 Leaflet 2405. This scheme covers regular RAF members and also the following RAF Reserves: FTRS, RAuxAF, VeRR, HRR and SR. Queries regarding this can be directed to: Manager of RAF Subscriptions Stuart Turnbull.
