Many thanks for your feedback forms, which are being sifted through as we speak; we hope to discuss the findings at our Spring Meeting in Durham. However, here are some snippets to be going on with.
Almost everyone enjoyed the new format of the weekend, particularly the evening dinner and the chance to go out to Salisbury and have the opportunity for some pampering from the resident Beautician. We agree that it would be a good idea to hold a Forum on the Sunday morning, to give information and have questions and answers about your Association and how the weekend has gone.
We realise that a lot of ladies no longer have dependent children, but the talk by the Child Bereavement Charity was very well received by everyone who attended. As usual we were very well looked after by Padre Giles Legood and all the staff , who unfortunately could do nothing about the lack of heating (not a problem next year as the AGM will be 14/16 October, 2011)!! May we also voice our thanks to RAF Odiham and our other sponsors for their help and support: this enabled this year’s event to be subsidised and for us to offer all those little extras which everyone enjoyed.
All in all a successful weekend, but in the end these events are down to you the members and we really do want and need some new ideas, different input and perhaps (dare we say it) newer and younger widows to give it a try.
If distance and location is a problem, then please come to our Spring Meeting, which is planned in the beautiful city of Durham on the weekend of 25/27 March, 2011. Don’t forget that the Association will cover travelling expenses.
Many thanks again for making the weekend such a success.
