Staff from 2 MT Squadron have been doing a variety of fundraising for us this year, so far raising over £2,000 for our work. In this guest blog Sergeant Si Mudford tells us about his team's fundraising achievements.
It's been really exciting raising money for the RAF Benevolent Fund this year.
Since March, we've had monthly events and collections which have included entering the Airfield Anarchy mud run, organising a cake sale, doing a 12-hour bikeathon, collecting money at the Waddington Air Show and taking part in the British 10k London Run.
All of these activities have been a lot of fun for all members of the team especially the British 10k, which for me was a great experience.
We decided that we wanted to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund because we've all seen the difference the charity has made to people's lives. Personally, I like the fact that the Fund is there to help both serving and retired personnel which gives me peace of mind that if I ever need help later on in life, the RAF Benevolent Fund will be there to help.
If you're thinking about fundraising for this amazing charity then I urge you to read some of the stories on this website which will give you an understanding of why the RAF Benevolent Fund needs your donations to help them continue supporting members of the RAF family.
