Our Airplay project provides facilities and youth support for young people growing up on RAF stations. We have recently run a drawing competition for budding RAF artists who are taking part in Airplay. We have had a fantastic response and now we have three winners.
In first place we have Will, aged 11, from RAF Leeming. Will entered a stunning picture of a Hawk, and has won a £500 prize for the station and an Airfix model of a Hawk for himself.
In second place comes Jessica, ages 10, from RAF Waddington who produced a creative collage featuring the RAF Benevolent Fund’s famous heart roundel.
And in third place we have Aimee, aged 9, from RAF Northolt, with a magnificent composition featuring her father’s uniform and the RAF Benevolent Fund’s famous heart roundel.
Paul Hughesdon, our Director of Welfare, led the judging. This is what Paul had to say: "Judging the Airplay art competition has been one of the highlights of our year in the RAF Benevolent Fund welfare team.
"All the entries we received showcased an amazing amount of talent among young people in RAF families and indicate the wonderful success the Airplay project is enjoying nationwide.
"Many congratulations to our winners, who all surely have bright creative careers ahead of them."
