With thousands in need on Mount Sinjar in Northern Iraq, the RAF has been delivering vital humanitarian relief. RAF Hercules, the work horse aircraft of the RAF, have completed aid drops in recent nights and delivered desperately needed supplies.
The Hercules delivered jerry cans of drinkable water, tents to provide shelter from soaring summer temperatures, and solar lights that can also recharge mobile telephones.
Hercules aircraft, which can carry many tonnes of supplies, have delivered humanitarian relief around the world – from the islands of the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan to the mountains of Iraq.
