Following the success of this year's Cairngorm to Coast challenge which raised over £9000, Team RAFBF Lossiemouth is proud to announce that the daring event will be back for a third year running.
The tough trial sees competitors undertake a 30km hike, followed directly by a 70km cycle through the unforgiving Scottish terrain.
This year, 43 participants completed the event and Team RAFBF Lossiemouth, a fundraising volunteer group based near RAF Lossiemouth, are hoping that many more take part next spring.
Having enjoyed the 2016 event so much, Kelvin Hirst (pictured) has signed up to conquer the challenge in 2017, despite getting lost on the final stretch!
"I enjoyed my first Cairngorm to Coast immensely," Kelvin explains. "The challenge was an attractive one, and it was great to be able to do something in the local area."
"It's important to support the RAFBF," the RAF veteran continued, "as even though you leave the RAF, you're always a part of the military family."
"You help each other, just as you did in service life. Hopefully, you never need the help yourself, but the RAFBF will be there if you do."
To celebrate the opening of registration for the event, a special prize draw is being held thanks to sponsors Windswept Brewing Co.
Entrants who complete their registration by midnight 29 December will have their race number entered into a free prize draw for a mini keg of Windswept Brewing Wolf and two Windswept glasses (just in time for Hogmanay!).
