Following the successful dinner in 2010 the RAF Museum and the RAF Benevolent Fund, supported by RAF Cosford, are planning a Gala Ball for Saturday 8 October.
The evening will start with a champagne reception under the wings of the Vulcan and other aircraft in the Cold War display. A formal sunset ceremony will then be followed by dinner in the War Planes hall surrounded by Spitfire, Hurricane, Lincoln and Catalina aircraft.
There will be entertainment throughout the evening with an auction and a grand raffle, plus music from the Soul Party swing band, the RAF’s Spitfire Choir and the highly popular Telfordaires Barber Shop Singers. The evening will raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF’s leading welfare charity, and the RAF Museum Cosford.
Sir Robert Wright, Controller of the RAF Benevolent Fund, said:
"Dining among Cosford's legendary RAF aircraft is a special experience and a must for anyone who enjoys high quality entertainment, supports the RAF, or has an interest in our aviation heritage.
"The RAF Benevolent Fund spends over £20 million a year supporting RAF families past and present, so anyone who buys a ticket will be giving something back to the RAF’s people, who are working so hard on operations all over the world. We look forward to welcoming visitors to this prestigious event."
