Launch of the British Military Tournament 2013

Alex Jones, from BBC’s The One Show, yesterday launched the 2013 British Military Tournament at Earl's Court.

This year's theme is in celebration of the achievements of heroes and legends in British Military history.  The code breakers at Bletchley Park in World War II, Nelson at Trafalgar, Lawrence of Arabia, and today’s heroic servicemen and women will all take centre stage.

The British Military Tournament is presented by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity in association with The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, supported by The Boeing Company.

It will take place at Earls Court on December 7 and 8 (with two shows each day) and will build on the phenomenal success of its past three years with a spectacular new show. Tickets are now on sale from

The launch at Earl’s Court was a sensational taster of what visitors will see at this year’s tournament, it featured: The Royal Signals’ White Helmets blasting through the front doors and down the steps of Earls Court, they then executed some thrilling stunts with the help of The One Show’s Alex Jones.

Royal Marine Commandos abseiled down the front of Earls Court, the Pipes & Drums of the London Scottish Regiment and the trumpeters of the RAF performed and there was even a special appearance by Lawrence of Arabia with two camels!

The British Military Tournament 2013, once again written and directed by Christopher Joll and produced by IMG Arts & Entertainment, is the most breathtaking performance of military theatre of its kind.  It will be narrated live by British actor Anthony Andrews and features pre-recorded contributions by Carol Vorderman, Andy McNab & Martin Shaw.

The dazzling arena production will feature re-enactments, death-defying stunts, stunning military ceremonial set pieces, storytelling, music and state-of-the-art audiovisual and a submarine emerging through the floor of Earls Court!

The British Military Tournament is the largest fundraising event in aid of the three national charities of the British Armed Forces.

Participants from all three Armed Forces make up this incredible show that raises much needed funds to support the men and women of our Armed Forces and their families.

The 2013 British Military Tournament will include:
