Last week the RAF Benevolent Fund held its first full race day event at Chepstow Racecourse in the chilly but beautiful November sunshine. Regional Fundraiser Cerys Sadler tells us more.
The event saw the full race card named by the Fund and some races were kindly sponsored by one of our longstanding and much appreciated supporters, Duncan Barber of AMSS in Bridgend, South Wales.
We were delighted to also have had a hospitality box full of supporters and serving RAF personnel from RAF Brize Norton, along with a team of dedicated volunteers helping us to raise money for our work.
We were joined by cadets from 2012 (Caldicot) ATC and we also held an auction, a raffle and sold merchandise on the day.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who supported us in all aspects of the event from the sponsors and hospitality guests through to those who kindly donated, purchased items from us and volunteered on the day.
It was a fabulous success and the monies are still being counted but we are thoroughly pleased with how the day went.
We would also like to thank Caroline Freiha and the staff from Chepstow Racecourse for all of their support in the lead up to the event and on the day itself – everything was superbly managed and it was a real pleasure to work with the team.
