Led by station commander Group Captain Simon Paterson, who completed the course in 1 hour 53 minutes, the team were in high spirits following the event. "I’m delighted that we had such a large team taking on the Reading Half Marathon," he said after the run.

"It was a massive challenge, both physically and to raise a bigger sum than last year, but I'm confident that we have achieved it by working together. The RAF Benevolent Fund is a great cause and helps the RAF family in so many ways."

Heather Kemp, who works from the RAF Benevolent Fund's Regional South office at RAF Benson, also undertook the run. With a time of 2 hours and 13 minutes, Heather was elated to have taken part: "I loved it. Every second of it was incredible."
