Ryan goes for greatness in the Great North Run

Ryan is one of thousands to take part in the Great North Run this weekend. Based at RAF Brize Norton, Ryan made the decision to run for a charity close to his heart: the RAF Benevolent Fund.

At not even twenty years old, Ryan is keen to show his support for the charity and raise as much as possible, whilst also pushing himself to complete such a challenging event.

Ryan Bradshaw goes for greatness

"I've been training over Cannock Chase in Staffordshire," Ryan explains, "running 12 mile routes to build up my fitness in a different, and more rigid environment.

I'm hoping on the day that the atmosphere and support provided by those watching will most certainly spur me on for a faster time!"

RAF Benevolent Fund Regional Director Paul Hewson commented: "Without the support of people like Ryan we wouldn't be able to deliver the array of services we do for our beneficiaries. We really appreciate the time and effort he's given, and his endeavours will ensure that we can help even more people, and continue to support the RAF family for many years to come."

Ryan hopes to raise £500 in his first Great North Run. To show your support and spur Ryan on, please visit:
