We had lots of great blogs on our website in 2013. Here, we've picked our 10 favourites.

1. Bomber Command Memorial sculptor wins top award – Malcolm White, Chairman of the Bomber Command Association, wrote a blog about Philip Jackson who was awarded the Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture for his sculpture of seven Bomber Command air crew at the heart of the Bomber Command Memorial.

2. Peenemünde raid 70th anniversary commemorative walk – author Steve Darlow told us about his reasons behind his sponsored 20-mile walk to the Bomber Command Memorial on the 70th anniversary of the Peenemünde raid. 

3. Schoolgirl's head shave to raise money for Airplay – Alice Cunningham, 16, told us all about her sponsored head shave in aid of our Airplay programme at RAF Lossiemouth. 

4. 'Tin Man' the marathon man – a blog from Wing Commander Martin 'Tinny' Tinworth who marked 30 years of service in the RAF by running the London Marathon to raise money for us.

5. The bouncing bomb just looked like a big glorified dustbin – Dambusters veteran Johnny Johnson described his first encounter with the bouncing bomb in a blog to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Dambusters raid. 

6. Celebrating RAF dads this Father's Day – Former RAF dog handler, Lee Cunliffe, told us what Father's Day meant to him. 

7. Barcelona to Bournemouth cycle challenge – an inspiring blog from SAC Paul Heaton who embarked on a mammoth cycle challenge with his brother James to raise money for us. 

8. Guy Gibson, the essence of good leadership – Dambusters veteran, Johnny Johnson, shared his thoughts on RAF hero and commander of 617 Squadron, Guy Gibson.

9. Life as an RAF mum – a great blog we featured for Mother's Day. Flight Lieutenant Janet Logan wrote about how she juggles her RAF career with being a mum of three. 

10. Airplay: giving a voice to the voiceless – a lovely blog from Helen Bunker who told us how our Airplay programme has helped her family.
