Thanking our trust supporters

Since 2010, more than 100 trusts, foundations, livery companies and other grant-making organisations have contributed around £3.5 million to the RAF Benevolent Fund. In this blog, Geraldine Kay, one of our trust fundraisers, tells us about our recent event to thank these supporters.

On Wednesday 29 June, the RAF Benevolent Fund's Director of Strategy & Fundraising, Group Captain Mike Neville, hosted some of the longstanding supporting grant makers for a tour of the Bomber Command Memorial. Many of those attending were associated with veterans, Bomber Command, and the serving RAF.

My colleague, Naomi, and I were able to report to guests on developments in the RAF Benevolent Fund's welfare programmes, following on the research published in 'Meeting the Needs of the RAF Family' in 2015.

We felt it important to meet, thank and acknowledge the many trusts, foundations and livery companies for their support.

Unrestricted funds enable our charity to plan and prepare for emerging needs of the RAF family, and we also actively fundraise towards particular areas of welfare provision that have been devised strategically, including the mobility scheme for members of the RAF community, and Airplay and Ben Clubs for children on RAF stations.

We are so grateful for the continuing support of these many organisations as they help us to meet the changing needs of the entire RAF Family.
