Head of Individual Grants
Salary: £52,500 plus pension contribution & benefits
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team at the RAF’s leading welfare charity. As a Head of Department (HoD), you will join colleagues in enabling and delivering high quality support to those in the RAF Family who are in need, and help to shape future policy. In 2018, we will have helped over 55,000 people and are ambitious about reaching more as we approach our Centenary. We provide support in a wide variety of ways, and individual grant giving is a key part of that.
The role is well suited to those who have a strong grounding in individual casework and ideally grant giving; applications are strongly encouraged from Pers Support practitioners from the RAF, whether commissioned or not. We are looking for an individual who has line management experience and who has a passion for our mission. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their ability to work effectively with HoD level colleagues, individually and through the Welfare Management Board, as well as a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
They will also be versatile and imaginative, be able to think strategically but have a good eye for detail and have a clear focus on delivery; the post also requires a high level of individual work/output. Successful integration with the current team will be vital. The role is based at 67 Portland Place.

Executive Assistant to the Director of Finance
Term: 12-month fixed term contract
Salary: Circa £33K plus benefits
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading military charity and use your experience to support a member of the Senior Management Team. The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund is seeking a professional and highly credible individual to take on the role of Executive Assistant.
You will possess and demonstrate excellent administration and organisational skills, including the organising of trustee level meetings and taking the minutes. You will have the ability to act with authority and independence.
Planning, organising and being able to prioritise are essential skills in this busy role as you will be responsible for a myriad of tasks in support of a member of the Senior Management Team. You will be expected to work on a wide variety of inward and external facing tasks and have excellent programme and diary management skills. You will need to be IT literate including the full use of MS Office and be able to adapt to in house systems. In addition, you will have excellent inter-personal skills being able to communicate across all levels with sound presentation skills and a flexible approach to your work.
