Grants to other charities and organisations

As part of our leading welfare support, we are pleased to provide grants to other charities and organisations that also provide tangible assistance to members of the RAF Family, working together for the benefit of those in need.

We also provide funding for RAF stations, including grants to improve morale and wellbeing. Find out about our Station Grants Programme.

In order to ensure that its grant programme is benefitting the RAF Family, the RAF Benevolent Fund has established guidelines for applicant charities and organisations.

You can download the guidelines to our programme below:

Please do read the guidelines as they will help you in establishing your eligibility and in making your application the best it can be to ensure success.

After reading the guidelines if you have any questions or queries or require advice, please email us in the first instance at

If after reading our guidelines you believe you are eligible to make an application, please use this form:

The RAF Benevolent Fund operates an open grants programme enabling applicants to apply at any time during the year, although organisations are limited to one application per year.

We aim to turn applications around within 8-12 weeks of receipt.

Mental Health First Aid

We understand that Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training provides the basis for increased mental health awareness and resilience amongst RAF serving personnel, RAF veterans and their families throughout the UK.

We have, therefore, been liaising closely with the RAF’s Stress Management & Resilience Training (SMARRT) Team and have agreed to provide support to RAF Stations and Units with the reimbursement of the costs to purchase their MHFA training course manuals; which will be distributed to eligible attendees at training courses. We can also, in some circumstances, consider a financial contribution towards the training of additional MHFA Instructors at RAF stations.

To find out more about how it works, and to check your eligibility to apply, please download and read our Applications Guidance:

If you meet our guidelines, please submit an application form for our consideration:
