SMS terms and conditions

Donating by SMS (text message) is a quick and easy way to support the RAF Benevolent Fund and RAF family in need. Here are some important terms and conditions:

Cost of donating by text and what the RAF Benevolent Fund receives
Your text will be charged the amount of the donation plus a standard text message rate specified by your network provider. The charge will show on your bill or be deducted from your pay as you go credit. 100% of your donation will be received by the RAF Benevolent Fund.

There is no limit on the number of times you may make a donation via text, but there is a daily limit of £30 on text donations. You will not be able to donate more by text from the same number on the same day, but you may still incur your standard network message charge if you try.

How will my donation be used?
Your donation will help the RAF Benevolent Fund provide a variety of services to members of the RAF family who are going through a difficult time.

Find out more about how we help serving or former RAF personnel and their families, or see a breakdown of how we spent our income last year in our annual review.

Can I donate by text?
You must be 16 years old or over to send a text donation and please obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text donation to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Where can I send text donations from?
You can only send a text donation from a UK mobile and cannot donate using this service from a Channel Island, Isle of Man or other non-UK mobile. If you donate using this service from a UK mobile outside England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, you may incur additional network charges.

One-off text donation
To make a one-off donation by text message, please text BCM to 70660 to donate £5 to the RAF Benevolent Fund. Thank you!

Please ensure that you spell the keyword carefully and send your text message to the correct short code, or your gift will not be received.

All texts are charged at the donation value plus one message at your standard network rate (based on your service provider rates). The charge will show on your bill or be deducted from your pay as you go credit.

Don’t forget to look out for the confirmation message to show that your donation was successfully made (you will not be charged for this).

Gift Aid
Your text donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. In order for us to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on your gifts and make them worth 25% more – at no extra to cost to you – please click the link within the message received shortly after you made the text donation to fill in some details.
