We are an efficient and well-run charity, and we are committed to ensuring that the money you donate makes a real difference to the men, women and children of the RAF family.

We spend over £20 million each year, and we help over 60,000 people. 87 pence of every pound you donate is spent directly on our charitable work.
We do more
As financial pressures caused by the current economic climate continue to be felt across the RAF family, we are pushing forward with our pledge to ‘do more, for more’.
The money we spend on our welfare provision last year (2010 – 11) was more than we have ever spent. This amounted to £2 million more on our charitable activities than we spent in 2009.
A broad range of welfare support
We provide a broad range of welfare initiatives, from childcare centres to housing for those injured in conflict, and from debt relief counselling to mobility aids, such as wheelchairs.
Last year our voluntary income demonstrated the fantastic commitment of our supporters, with a £1million increase despite the difficult economic situation. And once again, the RAF Benevolent Fund used some of its reserves in 2010 to meet welfare needs over and above income raised in the year.
We expect to use further reserves in 2011, meeting the welfare needs of the RAF family both now and into the future. We are totally committed to meeting the needs of the RAF family during this time of economic downturn and operational uncertainty.
