More than 100 adults and 32 children took part-running, jogging or walking in the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Fund Run, in Northern Ireland.

All entrants to the event, which took place on September 24 at the Coleraine Campus of Ulster University, received a bespoke medal, refreshments and had the chance of winning one of 82 spot prizes. A total of £1,378 was raised for the Fund.

The event would not have been possible without the continued support of Ulster University, which continues to generously provide the use of its facilities for the Fund run alongside the support of local businesses which sponsored the run.

The event was the third of its kind and was well supported by a wide range of people within the Northern Irish RAF family, including entries from Northern Ireland Universities Air Squadron (NIUAS) and from 502 Squadron.

Fund volunteer Julie Corbett, who helped arrange and attended the event, said "I am delighted with the success of this year’s 5k, not only have we managed to raise a fantastic amount of money for the Fund it also helps to raise the profile within our community.  It is fantastic to see support for the RAF Benevolent Fund grow in Northern Ireland year after year. We are already planning our next event."
