The RAF Benevolent Fund has awarded a grant for the first time to RFS Foundation CIO, the charitable arm of Recruit for Spouses, to help more members of the RAF Family access free, personalised career coaching and mentoring.
The £5,000 grant will contribute towards the core costs of delivering RFS Foundation’s Coaching and Mentoring Programme, which provides military spouses, partners and veterans with six months of free one-to-one support.
Irene Greenwood, Welfare Programmes Manager, says: “Spouses or partners of serving personnel can struggle to maintain their own careers, while developing a post-service career can be a real challenge for some veterans. We are delighted to award this grant to RFS Foundation CIO to support their Coaching and Mentoring Programme.
“Through this grant, the Fund is helping more members of the RAF Family build their confidence, overcome barriers to employment and take positive steps towards their career goals.”
Participants are matched with volunteer coaches who provide tailored guidance on areas including transferable skills, CV development, interview techniques, career progression and the transition to civilian employment.
