Fund returns to Ayr's Festival of Flight for fourth consecutive year

The RAF Benevolent Fund partnered with South Ayrshire Council for the fourth consecutive year at the hugely popular International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight on 4 and 5 September 2026.

Drawing thousands of visitors to Ayr’s iconic seafront, Scotland’s largest free air show delivered an action-packed weekend of aerial displays, family entertainment and military engagement.

Spectators gathered along the coastline and Low Green to enjoy an impressive flying programme featuring the Red Arrows, Typhoon FGR Mk4, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team and a Chinook flypast.

The skies above Ayr also welcomed displays from the Navy Wings Heritage Flight and the Royal Canadian Air Force CC130J.

Representatives from the RAF Benevolent Fund were on hand throughout the weekend in the Festival Village, sharing information about the practical, financial and emotional support available to members of the RAF Family across Scotland.

Visitors also had the opportunity to explore the Military Village, where personnel from all three Armed Forces provided insight into military life and careers, and new attractions for 2026 included a zip line, Red Arrows flight simulator, drone soccer arena and immersive planetarium, while visitors also enjoyed classic vehicle exhibitions, live family entertainment, funfair rides and a wide selection of local food, drink and trade stalls.

We were impressed to see the continued interest in our services and the opportunity to engage with visitors over the weekend.
