Smart devices can make moving on from failed relationships hard

Published:

Smart devices are becoming a valuable part of the lives of many. As useful and convenient as they are, privacy concerns are often cited as a big drawback of such devices.

Minimising a breech to your privacy from use of devices that are designed to be data savvy and all encompassing can sometimes require a gentle nudge.

There are up to 600 reports of cybercrime each month with the misuse of smart devices being an increasingly popular method of stalking. Although legislation can be used to tackle those who offend in this way, avoidance of such experiences is preferable.

It is important to remember to review any smart home device when a relationship breaks down. Any ex-partner's access should be revoked by removing their account access from the device. This may need to be done for each smart device you own.
