Great North Run

Date: 10 September 2023
Location: Newcastle
Category: Running events

The Great North Run is famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable on-route entertainment and warm Geordie welcome, not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes.

From the rush of the Red Arrows flying overhead to the oggy-oggy-oggy chants, Great North Run magic can be hard to understand- until you’ve experienced if for yourself on the Newcastle to South Shields route.

Location: Starting in the middle of Newcastle on the Central Motorway you will then pass through Jesmond, Haymarket, Monument and Central Station before making your way across the iconic Tyne Bridge from Newcastle to Gateshead where you will see the sights of The Sage and Gateshead Stadium. From there you will make your way through South Tyneside towards the home stretch in South Shields, welcomed by the wonderful sea view.
