Family spirit shines at the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon

This weekend Pauline and her family will be putting themselves through their biggest challenge to date, as they take part in the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running 2016.

Pauline Evans, husband Graz, and children Morgan (13), Oliver (10) and Jessica (7) are once again participating in the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon this Sunday, all in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund. Pauline is no stranger to the event, having run the 5k last year.  She enjoyed it so much that she upped her mileage this year to the even more challenging 10k.

Suffering from autoimmune disease sarcoidosis and rheumatoid arthritis, Pauline has never been one to let her illnesses get in way of her passion for life.

"I've never been one to let it stop me," she explains. "Life's for living. Every year after I've done the 5k, I say I'll do the 10k. This year I've decided to take the plunge. It's my last year of my 30's so I've signed up!"

Pauline, who has been a strong supporter of the Fund for many years, also serves as a volunteer as part of Team RAFBF Lossiemouth and is a constant source of support to all those taking part in events in Scotland. Her role as ISS Subpostmistress and Spar shop supervisor at RAF Lossiemouth means that far and wide, people have come to know and support her unwavering efforts.

Colin Norris, General Manager of ISS, RAF Lossiemouth explained: "We are so proud to have Pauline on our team here at Spar Lossiemouth as her positive can-do attitude whether in the workplace or when fundraising for the RAFBF is infectious! Having served in the RAF myself, I think the work that Pauline does for the RAFBF is truly remarkable and I wish her all the best in her 10k run at the Baxters Marathon."

Also joining Pauline is fellow Team RAFBF Lossiemouth teammate Cpl Craig Chrossan who has also been supporting Team RAFBF since 2013, and will be running the 10K too.
