The RAF Benevolent Fund has been awarded a generous £11,000 grant from The Red Arrows Trust to help support serving RAF personnel based at RAF Waddington who are facing financial hardship.

The Fund is extremely grateful to The Red Arrows Trust for its continued support, which spans many years and reflects a shared commitment to the wellbeing of the RAF Family.

RAF personnel and their families can face sudden financial challenges due to changes in posting, deployment, illness, family circumstances or the rising cost of living. Thanks to this grant, the Fund will be able to provide targeted support at RAF Waddington, helping individuals and families to manage these pressures and maintain stability during difficult periods.

Over the last year, thanks to the support from the Red Arrows Trust, the Fund has supported 33 serving personnel and their families at RAF Waddington through a range of grants, including help with housing costs, general living expenses, temporary financial assistance, travel and accommodation, and essential household needs. This support ensures that those serving are not left to face hardship alone.

Simon Race, Trustee at The Red Arrows Trust, said: “Each year, the Red Arrows Trust commits significant funding to a broad range of charitable causes, with a strong focus on supporting the social welfare and healthcare of serving and veteran military personnel, as well as community initiatives connected to the Red Arrows.

"We are pleased to continue our support of the RAF Benevolent Fund through this grant, helping to ensure that serving personnel at RAF Waddington can access vital financial assistance when they need it most."

Sheila Brazil, Trusts and Foundations Manager at the RAF Benevolent Fund, added: "We are extremely grateful to The Red Arrows Trust for its continued generosity and long-standing commitment to the RAF Benevolent Fund. This support enables us to provide practical, timely financial assistance to serving personnel at RAF Waddington which will make a hugely positive difference."
