RAF High Wycombe hosts Families’ Day supported by Fund

Published:

This month, RAF High Wycombe hosted its Families Day supported by the Fund.

RAF High Wycombe’s Families Day involved a range of activities for all ages including inflatables, snake and reptile petting, food stalls including a Ghurka curry stall, a photobooth and a surfboard ride.

An estimated 300 personnel and families from RAF High Wycombe attended the event. The Fund attended with a merchandise stand which included gizzits for children and young people, with an appearance from the Fund’s very own Ben Elephant.

There was live music performed throughout the day with a silent disco hosted in Smithy’s Bar, an all-ranks facility, to conclude the evening.

The Fund contributes a series of grants to RAF bases to help facilitate these events on stations each year. Events such as Families' Days provides an opportunity for single serving personnel and those with families to come together and socialise, increasing cohesion, improving morale and mental health, and reducing isolation.
