My brilliant internship with the RAF Benevolent Fund

Martin WatsonMartin Watson is an intern in our Fundraising and Communications team. In this guest blog, Martin tells us more about some of the work he's been doing as part of his internship.

I have worked in a variety of jobs since graduating with a CGI degree at Stafford University. The roles have ranged from being a Dive Guide to a Scheduler for a large stock taking company.

Now I am an intern for the RAF Benevolent Fund working with colleagues in the Fundraising and Communications team, helping them organise events.

My responsibilities have included editing videos to help promote the charity to setting up the venues and everything in between.

One of my highlights so far was helping to organise the RAFBF Awards. It was lovely evening and it was great to meet so many supporters of the charity.

Another highlight was helping to organise the Fund's Annual Fundraising Dinner which gave me the opportunity to learn more about the various aspects involved in putting on a large event.

Working with the Fund has been a brilliant experience and it's been a genuinely good feeling knowing that the work I'm doing is not for profit but for the benefit of others.
