The RAF Benevolent Fund held its prestigious annual awards ceremony last night (Thursday 24 April) at the Sheraton Grand in London. The evening provided the opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Fund’s supporters. The ceremony was attended by RAF personnel, veterans and supporters of the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Now in its thirteenth year, the RAF Benevolent Fund Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of its fundraisers, volunteers, and partners. Winning RAF Station of the Year was RAF Lossiemouth, and Partnership of the Year was awarded to the RAF Winter Sports Association.
Air Vice-Marshal Chris Elliot, Controller of the RAF Benevolent Fund, said: "The awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the remarkable support we received from individuals, groups and organisations in 2024. Everyone on the shortlist contributed to helping to raise funds and awareness of our support, enabling us to deliver our vital services and reach more members of the RAF Family.
“Many congratulations to all this year's winners – their inspirational commitment, passion and advocacy has been wonderful to see. From everyone at the RAF Benevolent Fund – thank you."
Winning the ‘Heart of the Fund’ Award was 104-year-old Second World War veteran Colin Bell, for his unwavering support for the RAF Family, including raising money and promoting the Fund’s services. Colin Bell epitomises the ethos of the Fund through his bravery in aid of his country and long service to the Fund.
